Subject Number 046-890 Temporary Suspension of Dr. Eugene Ver’s Authorization to Treat Injured Workers Effective October 21, 2016

Subject Numbers Regarding Health Provider Authorizations

Authorization No. 163825-3W

October 21, 2016

Pursuant to Workers' Compensation Law Section 13-d(4), the Chair of the New York State Workers' Compensation Board has exercised his authority to temporarily suspend Dr. Eugene Ver’s authorization to treat injured workers within the New York State workers’ compensation system effective October 21, 2016. Dr. Ver's last known business address is Lifetime Health Medical Group Urgent Care Department, 800 Carter Street, Rochester, New York 14621.

The Chair’s designee’s investigation has revealed that the New York State Department of Health, State Board for Professional Medical Conduct (BPMC) has issued Order # 16-336, wherein Dr. Ver did not contest the specification that he was convicted in the Irondequoit Town Court of the crime of Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, in violation of New York Vehicle and Traffic Law Section 1192(03), resulting in a Censure and Reprimand, a $1,500.00 fine, and a five (5) year probationary period, during which he shall not be permitted to practice medicine except when monitored by a Sobriety Monitor, a Practice Supervisor, and a Therapist, and during which he must successfully complete a continuing education program in an area to be determined.

Therefore, the Chair believes that Dr. Ver may be guilty of misconduct, and that such misconduct would detrimentally affect the quality of care provided to injured workers.

Dr. Ver is prohibited from rendering treatment and care to injured workers while his authorization is temporarily suspended. Reports submitted by Dr. Ver for services rendered prior to October 21, 2016 are valid, but are invalid for any services rendered on or after that date. Requests to cross-examine Dr. Ver for services rendered prior to October 21, 2016, should not be denied due to the suspension of his authorization.

This suspension remains in effect until further notice. Any questions regarding the authorized lists should be referred to the Medical Director’s Office at 1 (800) 781-2362.
