Subject Number 046-1431 Reinstatement of Dr. Svetlana Trounina

Subject Numbers Regarding Health Provider Authorizations

Authorization No. 241242-7W

July 28, 2021

Pursuant to Workers' Compensation Law Section 13-d(4), the Chair of the New York State Workers' Compensation Board ("Chair") had exercised her authority to temporarily suspend Dr. Svetlana Trounina's authorization to treat injured workers in the New York State workers' compensation system effective February 6, 2020 (Subject Number 046-1264).

The temporary suspension was based on the Chair's designee's investigation, which revealed that the New York State Department of Health, State Board for Professional Medical Conduct (BPMC) had issued Interim Order of Conditions # 20-014, wherein Dr. Trounina was precluded from practicing medicine in New York State pending the determination of the Hearing Committee regarding matters under investigation. Pursuant to BPMC Consent Order 20-169, said order was vacated effective July 13, 2020, and, pursuant to BPMC Consent Order No. 20-166, Dr. Trounina agreed not to contest the allegations that she violated NY Education Law § 6530(9)(a)(i) and agreed to a Censure and Reprimand, together with a fine of $1,000.00, which fine has been paid.

Therefore, the Chair has rescinded the temporary suspension of Dr. Trounina and has reinstated her authority to treat injured workers effective July 23, 2021.

Any questions regarding the authorized lists should be referred to the Medical Director's Office at (800) 781-2362.
