Subject Number 046-1040 Temporary Suspension of Dr. Alan Ng

Subject Numbers Regarding Health Provider Authorizations

Authorization No. 219706-9B

March 16, 2018

Pursuant to Workers' Compensation Law Section 13-d(4), the Chair of the New York State Workers' Compensation Board has exercised her authority to temporarily suspend Dr. Alan Ng’s authorizations to treat injured workers and to perform independent medical examinations in the New York State workers’ compensation system effective March 15, 2018. Dr. Ng's last known business address is:

86-11 Justice Avenue
Elmhurst, New York 11373

The Chair’s designee’s investigation has revealed that the New York State Department of Health, State Board for Professional Medical Conduct (BPMC) has issued Order # 18-046, wherein Dr. Ng agreed not to contest the allegations, including that during the periods from in or about 2013-2016, he failed to render and/or note appropriate care and treatment to multiple patients, and prescribed medications, including controlled substances, inappropriately to these patients. This resulted in a Censure and Reprimand, and a 36-month probationary period, during which Dr. Ng may practice medicine only when monitored by a licensed physician, board certified in an appropriate specialty (“Practice Monitor”), and during which he shall successfully complete a continuing education program subject to the Director of OPMC’s prior written approval.

Therefore, the Chair believes that Dr. Ng may be guilty of misconduct, and that such misconduct would detrimentally affect the quality of care provided to injured workers.

Dr. Ng is prohibited from rendering treatment and care to injured workers and from performing independent medical examinations while his authorizations are temporarily suspended. Reports submitted by Dr. Ng for services rendered prior to March 15, 2018 are valid but are invalid for any services rendered on or after that date. Requests to cross-examine Dr. Ng for services rendered prior to March 15, 2018 should not be denied due to the suspension of his authorizations.

This suspension remains in effect until further notice. Any questions regarding the authorized lists should be referred to the Medical Director’s Office at 1 (800) 781-2362.
